Meet Raven Harrison
"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give" - Winston Churchill
My name is Raven Harrison, and it is my honor to introduce myself, my family and my vision to ensure that district 23 thrives under the Trump administration and beyond. God, family and country are where my allegiances lie.
The success of every candidate for federal office must be measured by strong leadership, transparency and the demonstrated ability to turn campaign promises into meaningful and timely action. Every concern of the constituents my district is a priority. With the greatest humility, I ask for your vote and the privilege to serve as your Congresswoman in the United States House of Representatives.
Just as a captain is expected to know every bolt and weld in his ship, so must those who represent We the People in government. Many seek office with an abundance of passion; but do not possess the skills to be successful and often lack critical knowledge to be successful. I thank you for the opportunity to demonstrate that I am the best qualified to represent district 23.
I was born in Pasadena, Texas. I am the only child of two retired United States Air Force Lieutenant colonels. My father, John P. Zebelean III is of Anglo/Austrian/ Hungarian descent while my mother Mae Etta (Mimi) is of Cherokee and Lakota Sioux Native American Indian descent.
My father was a combat pilot that flew air support missions in Vietnam period after the war, he completed his juris doctorate and was assigned to various duty stations all over the world including many active war zones. I have been fortunate to live and travel to destinations all over the world including Israel, Europe, Poland and Turkey.
My father retired after 27 years of active-duty service as an attorney stationed at the Pentagon. He still resides on our family’s 16-acre property just north of Washington DC.
My mother, Mae, holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and a master’s degree in business. She watched in horror at age 13 as JFK was assassinated on live television. She, like many were devastated and she vowed to serve in the military out of respect for his memory.
She worked on satellite defense systems, however much of her job was classified after multiple duty stations including Belgium, Germany and Israel she too retired from the Pentagon after 24 years of service.
Unfortunately, my mother is in the grips of crippling and debilitating Alzheimer’s and requires 24-hour care. It is an agonizing reality that I would not wish on anyone. I remain grateful for every day that she lives and live with the faith that she is under God’s full protection.
I am grateful that my parents installed in me a sense of leadership, service and sacrifice. I understand better than most the extremely high price of freedom.
Although I have lived in some of the most beautiful and exotic places around the world, I have also lived in some of the most dangerous, hostile and unforgiving.
The time we had together as a family was extremely rare. Their sacrifices ensured that I always understood how fragile and precious freedom is. I saw my parents less than three weeks a year. I understand that not everyone is called to protect and preserve the way of life that we are afforded as Americans.
I skipped 2 grades and left for college at age 16. I graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA with a Bachelor of Science degree.
My corporate career was extensive and spanned 3 1/2 decades. I was fortunate to work from ground level to executive in global marketing agencies around the world servicing Fortune 100 clients such as Shell Oil, IBM, Food Lion, the Atlanta Braves, and the World Wrestling Federation.
I have held nearly every position in global agencies from account coordinator to director. I have managed budgets in the 10s of millions and been responsible for international media buys. I founded two companies, a boutique marketing firm, Raven Media Group and an executive level event planning company Race 2 the Raven.
Additionally, I founded the Restore Our American Republic, ROAR network, which is a veteran led nonprofit. I have managed staff, manage profit and loss from our written policy, and have the privilege of holding ambassadorial roles in foreign policy.
I’m a business owner, an author producer, political strategist, keynote speaker as well as wife and mother.
I am blessed to be happily married to my husband Paul, who is retired major and C-17 and C-141 pilot in the United States Air Force. Paul was born in Oakland CA and graduated from San Jose State and with a degree in aeronautical operations.
He retired from Charleston Air Force Base South Carolina after 20 years of service. He is a combat pilot who flew in Operation Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom he is now a commercial airline pilot.
Paul and I have been married almost 17 years and have two incredible children; Patience and Major.
Despite the demands of two high-powered careers, we were able to provide structure and engagement to our family.
Our plans abruptly changed in March of 2017 when we received a call from our children’s elementary school requesting our presence 10 minutes before the end of the class day due to an undisclosed “incident”.
We found our then 8-year-old daughter alone in detention crying hysterically, hyperventilating, broken out in hives all over her body and inconsolable.
The principal, her teacher and the school administrator informed us that they had held a “mock election” in school and that the children were given paper ballots to vote for either Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump.
We were then informed that Patience was the only one who voted for Donald Trump and refused to change her answer when she was confronted by the teacher.
She was then picked up by the throat by her teacher and dragged the detention where she was given the assignment to write 100 times in cursive “Hillary Clinton is the true president and Donald Trump is an A-hole” ( which she also refused to do).
After admonishing the school and immediately placing our children into home school; we turned on the television to find that our story had made national headlines as I was labeled “a troublemaker”, “Racist” and “crazy woman”.
I knew at that moment that I was being called to push back against the growing evil that had infiltrated our schools and unraveling the fabric of our society.
I realized then that I was being called for something bigger than merely protecting our family from harm; that I was being called to step in the legacy my parents and ancestors had set in service to this country.
The documentary on Salem media now entitled Ravenous; outlines the story of my entry into politics and the journey that has led me to run for United States Congress.
We are not new to Florida, but we are blessed two have made this paradise officially home several years ago. We are honored to be full time residents of Boca Raton FL in district 23.
More information about my background and qualifications can be found in my book Raven’s Mantle: Fighting the betrayal of America.
Being a United States congresswoman requires fiscal responsibility, managing budgets in the trillions, experience in economics and foreign policy as well as a mastery of the political, social and military scape, their operations and inner workings.
In addition to all these skills I speak 3 languages and have comprehension in five; as well as foreign policy, veteran, diplomacy experience and a first-hand experience of the complexity of international communities.
The Foundation of My Candidacy is True Representation…
This means fiscal responsibility, utilizing the full power of legislative authority and oversight as well as lobbying for the money and appropriations to protect the quality of life for district 23. As your congresswoman I am not a representative of my voice but rather an amplifier for yours and an advocate to ensure that government’s power is always held by We the People. I will be unveiling a specific and detailed plan and a winning strategy to achieve the stated objectives soon. As my father often says, “it’s important to keep the main thing, the main thing.” Many in Congress have become distracted with issues and ideologies that lie outside of the parameters for which they were elected to United States Congress. I am resourceful and laser-focused with an impeccable sense of integrity and honor. My neighbors and constituents of District 23 will never have to question if they are getting the full measure of representation with me as their elected representative.
I am not an extremist in any fashion. I support the Constitution as written and the Judeo-Christian values it was founded on. I support the Second Amendment as well as all the others, and I respect everyone’s right to live their life the way they see fit. I am a voice for everyone, not just those who agree with me. I often say that I am fighting for your right to disagree with me. I believe in limited government, as did our founding fathers, and fiscal responsibility. The role of the representatives of the United States Congress is to pass a balanced budget and to provide legislative oversight, and that is what I will do. I respect all people, regardless of race, creed, or orientation. I enjoy meeting for meaningful conversation, as we can always learn something from others. My door is always open for Democrats, Independents, and Republicans alike to discuss how we can find common ground. When the politics are removed, we find that we are more alike than we are dissimilar. I want to be the change we wish to see in government.
I thank you for your time, your vote, and the opportunity to earn your respect.
Raven Harrison,
Candidate for United States House of Representatives, Congressional District 23, Florida
